When Dr. Rimm was asked about the amount of berries consumed, he said that those people ate around three servings of half a cup every week.

The answer is Anthocyanin, a type of dietary antioxidant flavonoid which is able to help the blood vessels dilate and offset the plaque build-up in the coronary arteries. With this ability, the chances of heart attacks and blockages are on higher level.
It is better to prevent than to treat, so eating blueberries, as well as strawberries, in the youth years is highly recommendable. When the body is developing in high rates from the age of 10 to the age of 25, all the nutrients of the blueberries will come in handy.
